hiya, sorry for the random question!

well, iv just bought my lady a bike to get to work and back- she was paying £5 taxi for 2 miles morning and night!

the bike has a speedometer, which turns on etc. but does not recognise movement ie.doesnt calculate speed/distance- or anything! just turn on
it has brand new batteries, the 'thing' on the wheel is still there. can anyone suggest why the 'thing'isnt connecting with the gadget?
thanks
joe

Magnet dropped out of the 'thing' on the wheel - or thing on the wheel not close enough to the 'thing' on the fork...

You'll also need to calibrate it to the size of wheel if its new or you replace the batteries...

in terms of calibrating after replacing the batteries how is this done?

Presumably riding a know distance, taking a reading and then adjusting it somehow)...

or if not adjustable just calculate how many % out it is and always apply that factor mentally, e.g. -10%; +20%

and watch out.you dont want any local speed cameras to get you before its calibrated properly.... :)

wheel diameter must be entered or circumferance..

go down halfords/tesco's/wilko's and get a new one for 5 quid... it will have the instructions in it.......
