Headliner removal......

Ok so it rained on me today on my way home from work.... INSIDE THE VAN  well, I say rain, maybe three drops came from inside the headliner
It's a panel van and I have a feeling it's just the bare roof underneath yes? There does not seem to be and dull thud when I tap through the headlining.

Can the headliner be dropped from the back, forwards so as to not have to remove the windscreen (coz that will result in welding a hole and more tears)?
I wanted to insulate it and then mega stretch over the lining but shall await your wise words.....

In the meantime, I'll wear a mack when driving :run

Could you tell us what hole will need welding if you remove the headliner surely if it is a hole then it will need sorting anyway, to insulate our panel van roof I used adhesive backed foil insulation, very easy and works a treat and doesnt come away in either the heat or ice, without knowing what other types of furniture you have got it is difficult to see how you would remove your headliner best.
This is what I used
