So Im having a respray- but what colour

Myrtle is booked in for a full respray inside and out in Jan.

Now shes the original VW Medium blau and has soft summer day blue upholstery and units inside. Part of me is saying keep to the original blue , but another part is saying she would look fantastic in deep cherry red, burgundy or a deep navy blue with the high top painted white.Obviously its a lot of money to spend so I want to get it right.

Not that Im thinking of ever selling her but the thought crosses my mind that if I changed the colour it may reduce value, Its nice in the original blue but then having seen the other colours on vans they look really good and the buses look really smart. I cant afford to change the interior colour of the furnishings though as I won the money Im investing in Myrtle and am v likely being med retired soon on a p poor pension.

Does anybody have any thoughts on the matter.

I would say that if you're going to change the colour of the van, then you have to do the whole thing ie. a complete strip down, respray inside and out. If you stick with the existing colour, and the cash is tight, you only have to do the outside. But....and it's a big but.....you need to make sure that you budget for all the little (and not so little) bits of rust and rot that WILL come to light when the work starts.

There are quite a few bits of bare metal visible in the door shuts, inside etc. If you don't change the colour of those, it will look odd.

I wouldn't let thoughts of whether the resale value will be affected by it being the original colour or not sway the decision - GOOD paint is far more important. If it was something rare, or a particularly desirable colour, or absolutely concours condition, then maybe. But overalls blue is hardly the most inspiring or unusual of colours. A good colour scheme choice should make it easier to sell if/when the time comes.

Keep the medium blue, I think it really suits T25s.

Thanks guys that is the colour I have opted for but I was just trying to get other opinions re the other options. Seems my gut instinct is right although that deep burgundy does look lush lol

Il keep her traditional and enter her for show and shine lol

+1 on keep it the same colour. You can always add some coloured "decal" panels after. They are not expensive these days and can be removed if desired. I keep meaning to add some to my plain white Tin-Top but can never decide on what/where/colour etc, so never did, yet!

Personally I like bight colours, the bolder the better. Fun colours for fun vehicles. Out of nosiness how much is the respray
