Hi all

I accidently melted a section of the brake servo hose whilst doing repairs at the front of the van.

Are there connectors available to rejoin it? I'd need 2 and a short section of hose. Also with the hose servered would it cause the engine to run rough?

The van is currently sorn and I'm preparing it for the MOT, so won't be driving it until I've sorted it.

Don't know about connectors but a hole in the brake servo hose will affect the engine as it'll let air enter the intake manifold.
If you're not driving (and therefore brakes aren't an issue) then you can quite easily block up the air hose where it exits the intake manifold if you want engine behaviour to be correct.

Buy a new one from Brickwerks?

Need to fit a new trigger cable for the starter solenoid so makes sense to fit a new complete servo hose whilst I'm at it.

I clamped the severed hose and indeed the engine ran fine. Just need to get the thing MOT'd and back on the road!!

Fitted a new servo hose from Brickwerks, it was a really tight fit. I had to heat the ends of the pipe to get it to slot over the connectors there was no chance otherwise. Anyway job done.

That's a quality part and better than the original. One less problem to worry about!
