The lipped edges fit perfectly each side of the hole cut in. Was this specially for t25 vans - does anyone know whether I can still buy this?

Retro-fitted. Doesn't match T25 dash remotely.

Thanks Covkid I had seen this. I should have made myself clear. The one I have is broken and I'm trying to to find a replacement that fits the same way.

Not clear to me how that fits perfectly , do you have a pic from the top or side when fitted?

What diameter is the guage looks like a 50mm one to me?
How deep can it go into the dash?

I'll get one. The lips on each side edge slot perfectly over the "column" part of the display

No it doesn't match but looks better than a large hole!

Ok so why can't you keep that plastic bit and replace the guage chances are its a standard diameter and length sorry if I'm being thick?

the screw holes left can just be fitted with screws so they don't just look like holes.

It looks like a standard size dial. A VDO one would probably fit in the surround. Have you checked the wiring to confirm its the gauge that's U/S and not just the trigger wire fallen off the coil?

I thought it was one piece having taken your advice I checked and it looks like it slides out of the plastic housing and the screws are a cosmetic moulding. When I bought the van the glass in the revcounter was smashed so I think it'd been thumped. Will check the coil tomorrow.

If your green coil connection is bad the buzzer of doom won't work either.
while you are ordering get some mr sheen and a duster

Mine won't then. A mechanic cut the buzzer of doom when I had all those overheating problems. Didn't you know that Mr Sheen breaks down the molecular structure of 80s plastic?

Mmm best get that buzzer working again assuming you are now fixed, if not you need to look for that oil light before starting as its the only indicator the basic circuit works.
two ways of disabling it cut the green to the dash or short the switch wire to ground, just need to find where it was done.
