Mk2 gti combined fuel pump/swirl pot or 2.1 WBX tank and pump if converting an injection.

Saying that, if you used a 1.9/diesel tank and an inline injection pump, the filters are pretty bloody big so always going to have a head of fuel anyway.

Never tried the above theory out though :ok

I am running a MkII Gti pump & swirl pot in my (originally diesel) syncro.

This has been fine for three years or more although I occasionally get a bit of a rattle after a long hard run (70 plus for miles on the motorway). I think this may be related to the pipe diameter between the tank & pump which may be restricting the gravity flow to the swirl pot. It hasn't affected performance in any obvious way but is probably leading to increased wear in the pump.

I am using the original diesel feed pipe which is 11mm at the tank but immediately reduces to 7mm. I may at some point insert some 11mm pipe and move the taper section right against the swirl pot inlet.
