hello
im having problems with fuel getting through the carb- becuase theres stacks of water that justs comes through and suffocates it. i havent used it in a whil, but it was filled up at asda- so not a local farmer in the sticks having given me atered fuel!
have i had a leak? where is it likely to have come from?

anyone else had such a problem?
thanks
Joe

Tops of tanks very prone to corrosion m8 .. water collects + rots top [mine was gone] .. drop tank out + have look easy way ... or mebbe the filler neck link has rotted / died + water could be thrown up from front wheel straight down tube into tank ?? its the short section just behind the filler cap, which joins the plaggy pipe, which goes to the tank ..
:?: :?: :?:

or a long shot if not used in a while is condensation ??
Again drop tank + drain [if top of tank ok, hit with underseal + thin oil after before replace ... if not rotten top, when !! :? !!

Possible the filler pipe (if metal) and the filler neck rubber.. the crap from the front wheel gets thrown up in there and gets in that way..

or as said the top of the fuel tank.. rots away... but you would prob have notices a strong petrol smell before now...

your best option would be to recondition your tank. drop it out the bottom but make sure your pull the two breather pipe conectors out first. they are located on the top of the tank which you can get to by putting your arm through the front wheel arches. theres one on each side. this will stop you from snapping them and having to hunt around for replacements (like me!). you will almost certainly need a new rubber filler neck and fuel cap back bracket as they are always rotted out. when i reconditioned my tank i found a lot of rust at the top which was just good enough to be treated and coated. it sounds to me like a new tank will be the way to go for you though. sorry
