Hi all, after taking a punt on a t25 with a months mot (paid 3700 for it but think I got a decent deal now!), i tidied up a bit of rot and it passed its mot today! Had advisories on rear bearings, oil leak ( looks like rocker or push rod pipe. The guy popped it back on the ramp for me to have a good look!) and brake line from front to back.
Ideally I'd like to do all of the solid pipes. I've seen a DIY kit with appropriate fixings for the t25 and a flaring tool. It's a budget tool, but has anyone used one and have any comments on them? I'm pretty mechanical and done cylinder rebuilds on old landys and replaced pipes but never made any! The kit is less than half the price of ready mades and I'd be able to do other ones in the future...so any opinions?

I use a flaring tool I've had for 20 or so years , I wouldn't buy a specific kit . Just get pipe and loads of fittings. Very satisfying when you get them all replaced for a fraction of the cost

Would agree with Dazco, you'll do it fine. Start with a short pipe, get a bleeder valve and screw it in to block off where pipe was disconnected so minimal fluid loss.Change pipe and bleed then hold pressure on pedal to check for leaks.When you see thats ok you'll have confidence to tackle others.
Cupro Nickel pipe is quite forgiving if the flare is slightly out as it compresses easily when tightening union.Just make sure you get Cupro Nickel and not the shiny garish copper cr*p thats like butter. P.S make sure you can undo bleeders before starting.

I used a brake pipe flaring tool and cunifer pipe to make the brake pipes on my kitcar 30 years ago and they're still fine. It's a very satisfying job.

Ans while tour about it get new flexis and the retaining clips,mm

And another question.....are they the long or short fittings for a 1981 bus? It looks like it in the pics of the kits but want to make sure I get the right ones!

It already had new flexies fitted before I bought it so hopefully they'll still be good!

Not sure if they are long or short. To be honest I'd get a selection they don't cost much. I've alwYs put a thin smear of copper slip on the threads of any fittings I use and on the bleed nipple.

I am getting the same job done. Got all the parts from Brickwerks, they are really helpful, told me exactly what I needed to replace all the brake lines including flexis and clips (as mm says) I'm not fitting them mind. That's someone elses job Still, I know I have all the parts needed.
