Has anyone seen this done or know if it is possible? I have my mind set on the flat six but im just wondering wether changing box at the same time is worth while.
Any Ideas? I've done a fair bit of googling but i havent really found a definitive answer.

I would have thought that if you are going to the expense of the later 3.0 (not the same as the 3.3 block) then you'd be better off fitting a reversed rotation "subarugears" MT5. They will bolt together and work straight off.
You'll have fun with the gear linkage too, it won't be a cheap build.

What sort of power can go through the standard box? Im switching back and forth between a 2.0T and the 3.0 and the gearbox seems to be more a more of a deciding factor.
How i identify which box is in mine?

Its all about torque, hp is just an expression of torque at a given rpm.
200Nm was considered the factory safe limit for petrol engines, with less brutal torque delivery compared to diesels.
This is how much the 2.6 SA makes in a tintop, but if in a van full o furniture then the transmission moves up its duty cycle and its life will be shortened.
I think that a properly built 094 can put up with c.240bhp (petrol) in a light van and driven with some respect...

I run an H6 with standard 5 speed box. Been ok for nearlly 2yrs and it had an ej22 in for the 6yrs previous to that plus it hasnt had an easy life. If I was to upgrade the box I would just give it to aiden talbot to put a longer final drive in. As it is tho I like the acceleration as geared for t he 2.1 so when you stick 220bhp through it the ratios give you great acceleration and not to bad cruising at 70-75mph either. Thing my code is AHU

Get underneath and have a look. It's stamped on. Take a wire brush and some wd40. Can t remember exactly where on the box it is by pretty sure it's front half

If it's from 1.9 dg bus it should be fairly well suited. It's the diesel boxes that are really "pooh"
