Exhaust replacement woes

we're having a nightmare with replacing the exhaust and it now looks like we or rather Ed will have to drop the engine - but he hasn't done this before and doesn't know where to start - can anyone help with a few pointers. Has done this many times on the bay, but never on a T25. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Hi Ali, it might help if you give a bit more info, like what engine you have etc, the wiki, link at top of the page may have some info. I am not technically minded but if Ed has done it in a bay I'm sure he'll find it will be no harder. Good luck

If watercooled petrol, not much harder than a Bay...
But remember to drop the gear linkage from the box before dropping the engine.. or you will bend it and knacker it..
also if Hydraulic clutch be carefull not to over stretch the hose..
Get a haynes manual if you havent got one already.. good basic procedure is in there...

just spoke to Ed
we've both done Aircooled, which are easy...
what pit falls are there ?
is it just the water system and heat sheilds to watch for ?
