Hi All I am from Australia and I am considering acquiring a 1994 South African T3 Caravelle with the 2.5 5cylinder motor. I am a bit worried I will find it hard to get parts. I have no such trouble with my 1990 DOKA 2.1 Any advice or links to suppliers would be appreciated.

Hi, I have a 1993 2.5 South African Microbus. Parts for this are easier to obtain than for a later 2.6 version. All suspension parts are the same as on the "normal" T25 and most engine parts are the same as on 1980's five cylinder Audis. Exhausts and clutch pressure plates are unique but exhausts can be fabricated and clutches reconditioned. With the bigger windows the window glass and panels are different, but only a problem if a window gets broken.

Agreed. Coolant hoses will become a problem for all SA owners soon enough, window rubbers last quite well because they are protected from the elements by the frame. Most of the SA crowd know of each other and info like wiring diagrams are available on request.
They do rust a a bit though, the steel definitely isn't as good as that used in German buses.
I love the torque and then there is the sound...
