Hi All,

Pretty new to the forum, and pretty much a novice on the mechanics, but with my new van and a Haynes manual I'm willing (thought no sure if able...) to learn.

So, I have an HT lead related question. Whilst investigating a power issue, which I think I have sourced to the fuel lines (which I'm intending to replace next week), I had a poke around the HT leads, plugs and distributor cap, and I noticed that on plug no. 2, the metal housing at the end of the HT lead doesn't fit over the shell. From what I could make out on the other plugs the housing does fit over.

So my question is, is there something special about plug 2, or do I just have knackered HT leads? It looks as if I could probably re-shape the housing to fit over...

I'm not entirely sure what you are describing.... Housing doesn't fit over the shell? (obviously petrol...but are we talking watercooled?) anyway, as in previous threads talking about shrouded spark plug cap issues I would suggest cutting the metal caps off and screwing on some new NGK replacements... they cost just over a tenner for all four posted and can be fitted in minutes with minimum effort.

Thanks for the advice Martin, I'll try and get pic up tomorrow to illustrate what I mean. To be fair the leads look so old I may just replace them anyway.
