Fuel gauge doesn't work ..(diesel syncro) I have found the plug to the sender unit and the brown wire has been cut and connected to a stud on the sender unit .. One of the two pins from on the sender has broken off so only one pin goes into the plug... Should this work ??

Well I've proved it Works with the remaining intact connection ... BUT THATS JUST COME OFF IN MY HAND!!! So any meraculous ideas on a fix or is it a new sender
