i would apreciate any advice my 2.1 injection camper starts and drives fine then after about 1 mile looses power and cuts out .it then restarts ok and will drive about 100 feet before cutting out again ,it always restarts ok but then only travels short distances before cutting out the frendly AA man thinks it is fuel , i have replaced the inline canister fillter to no avail has any one got any pointers

When it cuts how does it cut, cleanly? runs rough first? backfires? smoke?

Anyway, first thing, is to check the fuel for water by purging the tank, get it to pump out into a large transparent container..

When did it start doing it, gradual onset or just one day it didn't and the next it did?

hi while your driving you just loose power and it cuts out without any splutering i did a 300 mile trip where it went exellent then it sat on the drive for 3 weeks without being used when i started it it started first time then after about a mile it just stops . when you start up it reves without any problems and there seems plenty of power . it is as if once it uses the fuel in the lines (about i miles worth ) thats it after that it starts fine and you can travel about another 100 feet before it stops again i have replaced the canister fuel fillter. i am thinking fuel pump / coil when getting warm / fuel tank breather pipe blocked although the fuel cap is a crap fit and would not cause a vacume / or finally "pooh" in the bottom of the tank what do you think

Like clive says you can check two things at once by checking the fuel from the pump into a container..for water and pressure/amount
does sound like a pump to me

just an after thourght you mention water in the tank , on start up there is moisture comming out of the tail pipe the head gaskets are ok and it looses no water what do you mean by purging

No, combustion of hydorcarbon and air produces water as a by-product, lots of it... that isn't an indication I would have thought.

Pump or water in the fuel as No. 1 test... purging is clearing the tank of all liquids and dangerous gases. I actually meant just pump out as much of the liquid as possible, whetehr that is fuel or water... once you do this you should be able to see if there is water in there, if there is, this is probably the problem. Pumps can and do pack up after a short while, but that short seems very short, usually its due to overheating... which takes longer.

You might check you still ahve sparks as soon as it stops, and (BEING CAREFUL) whether you have fuel pressure into the presure regulator unit.
