wiper nuts

Hi all

Got a wiper nut that when tightens becomes loose again almost immediately but won't come off, just seems to turn and turn. I've tried pulling on the wiper stalk whilst undoing the nut but to no avail. It's been suggested by a friend that a hacksaw carefully sawing at the nut will eventually get it off. Has anyone else got any advice before I try that 8 the morning?

Thanks

Same principal really, try to get something under the nut to put some 'upward' pressure on while undoing it.

Thin screwdriver or similar, I'm surprised if it's stripped why it won't come off this way.

If you've got mole grips you can try turning and pulling it at the same time.

One of mine came loose on M5 on way back from Busfest, not good at all. I replaced them with nylocks, seem to do the job better for me. Bri

Don't over tighten them though they tend to shear the shaft off and no body wants that  ! 5nm as per haynes
