Rust question...

A sure nobody has aksed this one before...lol

I have some rust on the seams of my T25 Autosleeper. Also rust around rear windows and elec hook up point. I am probably going to give the whole van a paint using the Rustoleum method with a roller and i have the dvd. Before I do that i hpneed to repair the rust in the seams etc.

Should I simply rake out rust from the seams, treat it, re seal and then paint or should I get at the rust from inside too? The windows will need to come out and have some patches welded in as I think it is single skin there but correct me if I am wrong.

The high top is also showing signs of coming away from van in places so I need to clean this and re seal it.

One more question, can I use rustoleum on the fibreglass high top?

Thanks,

Andy

Rust is the devils work, if it is in the seems I bet it is on the inside as well. It needs getting rid of and that means getting back to silver metal however you do it. I hate the stuff, it really annoys me but it is a fact that steel oxidises.

Good luck.

OH, I BELIEVE YOU CAN USE rustoleum on the fibre glass.
