Coolant hoses

Hi,

I have a few coolant hoses that are ready for replacement and are weeping. Is there a schematic anywhere that lists part numbers against diagrams of the hoses for instance? Where is the best place to order the hoses? How do I order them, do I have to describe where they come from and go too etc.

Sorry for all the question but they seem expensive and I need to be sure I have the correct ones.

Many thanks

Neil.

Well for definite Kev, I know I need 26 as that is where my new leak is from. I need 9 if that goes to the thermostat housing as I repaired it with a slightly bigger id hose and that weeps as well. Do you have part numbers for these by any chance?

Cheers

Can I order a full kit anywhere, of the main hoses only. I don't need the bleed ring or the main tubes that run to the rad as these have been renewed already. It is mainly the connections from the stainless tubes from the engine end and main engine hoses.

I would consider changing to silicon hoses that Brickwerks do?

I've just changed loads of hoses and for the bits that weren't available or too expensive I got from a local motor factor and a place called Leicester Hose and Hydraulics. I took in the old hoses and within minutes had what I needed. See what's local to you. You can normally trust a man if he's got dirty hands, blue overalls and workshop that hasn't changed since 1956. I've gone with epdm for most bits but silicone for tricky bends and reducers. SIlicone bits look good but my engine bay isn't one I'd show off in a rush so the expense isn't justified.

Cheers nick, where did you get the other hoses from?

Kev, can you check part number 025 121 062e as this is listed on brickworks as from thermostat to front to back pipe for a late wbx? Mine is a 1989?

Need to know if this is correct before purchase.

Cheers

Brickwerks is the best place because if you can get them on the phone (they're busy fixing vans which is always a good sign) they'll talk you through getting the right bits and you're guaranteed quality.

Hi nick,

I have just ordered them over the net. I know one of the hoses goes to the thermostat and then disappears behind the bulkhead. This is the one I'm not sure about. The earlier one goes to the coolant tower, the later goes straight to the front to back pipe, as mine is a 1989 vintage, I have ordered the later one with fingers crossed ha ha. I can't get to the van as it's parked away from the house at the mo, so can't check it.

And upon double checking, it appears I have ordered the wrong one  ah well, that's one more that will get renewed and ticked off the list.
