Caravelle sound deadening removal?

Whats the recognised best technique for getting that grey rubbery foamy crap out of the underbody corners so you can see just how bad the seam rust has become?
Its hard going with a mallet and old wood chisel and applying heat...well...just makes the job worse.

Hi Ian,
Had to do the whole of the underside of mine before sandblasting. Powerfull heat gun and various scrapers hellish job that took forever but nothing else worked very well as too many awkward areas to get into. The mega industrial sand blaster just wouldn't cut through it.

I can believe that Duncan. No sense paying someone else to do it, my Earlex heat gun cost me nothing, better put in a "request" for a spare ;)
