Hi. I'm in the middle of converting my destroyed 1.6TD to a AAZ. On removal of the exhaust manifold of the AAZ, the end port, nearest the fly wheel was blanked off. Can any please tell me the reason for this. The donor engine was out of a 1996 Passat. Thanks.

Will be the EGR gubbins taken off and the remaining hole capped. Good move on previous owners part.
