Hello! I've just a bought a T25 again, after selling my last one a few years ago... Happy days!
Can anyone recommend a good garage / mechanic in North London? There's a fair bit of work that needs doing unfortunately and would like to take it somewhere I can trust.
Tim

Maybe a fair bit... Some welding around the windows and an oil leaking looking at... Oil leak being the worrying one.

I'm also looking for recommendations of a decent mechanic north london areas. I have a T25 1988 WBX 1.9 P Any recommendations appreciated !
I think my water pump has gone so need the part and service. Could also do with a good flushing and some expert checkups.
You can see the water collecting under the pump and the little filler bottle has emptied once recently.

Chris Cross are based in Palmers Green and are VW beetle & bus specialists. They looked after my van before we moved out of London. I found Chris always did a good job and was reasonable price wise (by London standards!) and I would definitely recommend him. I originally found them through this forum asking the same question as you!

Is that the one near the bus garage?

Great. Yes it's near the bus garage just before you hit the north circular heading south on Green Lanes.

For welding Bill at Westgate Garage in Hackney/London fields isgood, also foes mechanicals and v good prices. Not as knowledgeable as Chris Cross on t25 foibles though.

Westgate Motors are okay and Bill does know the vehicles fairly well but I had problems with some engine work they did so wouldn't necessarily trust them with anything complicated.
