Where is this water coming from

A few months back I found a hole by the sliding door(lower panel) hole was fixed and water removed, at the time the insulation was soaking wet obviously from the hole.

Fast forward till today and I decided to stick my hand there and the little cavity is full of water, it can't be coming from where the original hole was as the water was not escaping from it. It can't be coming from above as the insulation/lagging is bone dry ! Lagging doesn't just dry !

So where from ideas ??

Sliding door retaining catch gasket may have failed. Or you window seal.

Hi

No windows on the rear.

The insulation above is bone dry

I feel your pain. I've the same issue. Replaced the window seal and the slider seal and it still gets water in there. It's made a right mess of the panel. I haven't discovered where it's getting in either. :(

After much hand fiddling the water seems to be coming in from the bottom corner nearest the door, it rained a lot over night and it is only wet in that corner. I noticed that where the latch is there is like a tube like structural bit so maybe it is coming in from latch and running straight down I that cavity thus meaning the insulation would never get wet as it's protected ? Does all this make sence ? Is there anyway rain water could splash up when driving and be getting caught /sprayed into a little hole ? Doesn't seem right though???

Where can you get a new gasket for the latch ?

You mean this latch

Thank you

So the vans left the factory without any sealent etc on that part, surly it was always prone to being a weak spot for leaks !

I'd better get to the DIY shop and buy some sealent or would thick treacle do the job :rofl

I have some seam sealant would that do ?

Hope it sorts the leak out !

just what i said...remove catch, clean out holes as they rust , then instead of a gasket you apply a dollop of sealant over the van body and then place your offending catch back onto the gloop and screw it down ,then wipe away the excess ,job done
mm :D
