Skirt/Spoiler at front of Camper

Hello All,
My Auto Sleeper T25 has a plastic skirt, or spoiler(?) below the front of the van and just under the front doors. What exactly are these supoosed to do? I don't like them much, since 'Honoria' is not a 'souped up' van of any kind, so I'd like to get rid of them. Would their removal effect the van's manouverability?
Any views?
Ta ra,
Sal

If you don't like it they have good second hand value.
Many say they aid stability in wind and prevent the van wandering lanes although others disagree, and say that's more down to suspension set up and tyres.

Take it for a drive along a motorway on a windy day and see what it's like overtaking or being overtaken by trucks. Then take the spoiler off and try the same experiment again. I would not be without it.

Thanks Ralf, now that sounds sensible. I have to say that if the skirts reduce 'wandering' while on the motorway, then I'd surely keep them!

There absolute useless unless you fit a support from behind like spotlight steadies,,,,,, after 40mph they just flex and dont divert the flow at all

How do you know that? Have you had someone hanging off the front of your van whilst you drove over 40 mph
after 40mph they just flex and dont divert the flow at all
