whuch exhaust to buy?

Hello again.

Now it is time to change the exhaust on the army bus. My question is; should I buy a cheap one or an expensive one?

I can pay from €103.09 to €286.99 for a set.

http://www.vwbusshop.de/epages/GuenzlCl ... 033251051D" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Can anyone please tell me if they know any good reasons not to buy the cheap one? The higher price is from Guenzl, he does not say it is stainless so I guess it isn't.
And anyone with any advice or experience to share of such a matter would be much appreciated.

thank you

Jonathan

Impossible to say without direct comparison but put in simple maths terms, you can get nearly 3 cheep ones for the price of the expensive one. So, if the cheep one lasts only half as long as the other it will still work out better value. Personally, if you intend keeping the van for longer than the expected life of the exhaust I would go for a stainless system. The stainless system on my old car is about thirty years old and is as good as new.
Which ever way you go, best of luck.

does not really matter just make sure you put new exhaust mounting rubbers on at same time I did not and exhaust silencer pipe snapped off

Thanks, that is a very good point. I may get the cheapie, since we do not know how long we will have the bus.

Thanks for sharing that, I shall be sure to do so. I have only changed a mid-section on an old Volvo before, but I will have some help from a family friend with a professional workshop.
