vw t25 won't idle when cold

Hi ther I have a niggling from my van starts great from cold but won't idle so I have to keep my foot on the accelerater for a while till warm . It runs great . Can here choke on and I had the carburetor rebuilt with new gasket set and cleaned .checked vacuum pipes they seem ok . But idles great when warm . Colin :(

When cold, the fast idle cam is, or should, come into play.
Initially I would suspect the mechanism is not working correctly.

Yes I push the accelerater once then start cheers colin

Auto choke is the standard fitting.
When your engine is cold press the pedal down to set the auto choke. Then go back to the engine compartment and check that the cam on the carb to check that it is set to highest step.
