2.1 cam cover leaks

Well after several cam cover gaskets I finally see the light, well quite literally!
Several pin holes allowing oil to seep out. Dead easy fix then.
Bought a cover from JK and fit with a new gasket. The spring clip didn't seem as tight.
Fired it up and oil poured out.

Has anyone any similar experiences? Is it a faulty or poor part? Should I have bent the clip?
BTW ordered one from Brickwerks today. And I know that's what I should have done in the first place.

I had this problem a couple of weeks back, new clips from GSF, solved the problem immediately

For now, I've sealed the holes using silicon sealant and put the old cover back on. The clips are nice and tight. No leaks.
I still think that the part is poorly made.

No need to apologise. I know that. I'm just quoting what the websites state.

I've also got Lotus Esprit S4s in bits and that's a DOHC ;)
