Electric Manifold Heater has anyone ever removed one ????
Seems to be held in [once you prise the rivetted lid off !] with a round profile spring ring ??
:?: How the hell do i get it out :?:
:?: Are all the little 'Fingers' inside the manifold part of the casting or part of the heater ?? :?:

Cheers GD .................................................................. out ! :?

I have taken one apart... but it was a long time ago... I remember several parts falling to the floor... its actually 3 discs with resistance that heat up against the surface of the alloy insert (with the spikes on it when looking into the inlet)

Have you got any warm air being ducted to the inlet from the exhaust?

Yea i have the old style J tube exhaust with the canister whatsit all piped up to feed hot air to the "Airbox" in the corner of the engine bay ...

The heaters held in on a spring clip arr' i will have a poke at removal this week sometime ....

little fingers inside the manifold are part of the heater. I removed the heater from mine by removing screws that hold it in place (i think there were screws) then putting piece of 1"x1" wood through top of manfold and tapping it gently with a hammer. Just an O ring to seal the heater to the manifold

Think the one I took apart had a "circlip" type ring holding it in place...
