one end goes in the westy outlet, the other is barbed and pushes onto 8mm id gas hose

I've never found the 50mb westy regultor to be an issue with gas BBQ's. The only problem I have had is with a Kampa Gas shower. It's just too hot with the UK jet. Not really a problem if you use it to circulate the water in a Jerry can and shower from that. I have read that the Kampa Shower that is sold for the German market has a different size jet. So I will probably go this way as it would be nice to shower straight from the cold water source through the water heater unit.

Nope no extra regulator needed. The pressure as you know is a bit more on the westy tank, but won't cause any issues. mine and others have been fine for years like that

You could try a camping shop?

Brickwerks sell the nozzle that fits onto your gas tank. Cut the tap off that pipe from your cooker, and jubilee clip the nozzle on. Tank already has the tap to isolate, do you really need a second one, straight after?

You can get an inline step down (second stage) regulator that drops the pressure from 50 to 37mbar to sort that out.

The regulator itself is £15, but add in some hose connectors, a short length of hose, and a couple of quick release fittings - the male and female of the BBQ take off point on the Westy, and you have a little dongle for about £30 that plugs into the BBQ point and into which you then plug your water heater etc.

I've looked everywhere but couldn't find one. A link would be great please.

I must admit that I don't know how a regulator works, but would a conventional 38mbar regulator, designed to work with bottle pressure at its input, work on the 50mbar output of the Westy regulator? Does it have to be a dedicated 'second stage' regulator?

My understanding is that a first stage regulator i.e. like your standard gas bottle or Westy tank regulator, requires a higher input pressure to function.

I've added the link to the second stage regulator we bought to my other post above.

So I have the brickwerks adaptor but for the life of me I can't see how it fits Any ideas?

If its not been used for years it might need 'working' back and forth whilst applying some WD40.
