reinstalling standard springs

hi everyone i have been trying to reinstall the standard springs back into my van as its been lowered.anyway rear ones fitted quite easily front ones a nightmare.just cannot seem to get them compressed enough to get them in and also the long bolt that compress the springs seems to foul the spring from fitting.i have bought 2 different types of spring compressors single and double.any ideas or tips to get these in,cheers dave
