Front shocker mount orientation...

Bentley says the shocker mounts should be fitted with the spring end (recess) to rear on the lhs of vehicle and front on rhs.

Anybody know why and if it makes any difference. Somebody suggested it didn't.

A pain to turn around if you've put them both the same

At I guess I would say that if the springs are wound the same way then it would hand the bottom 'half wind' of the spring to be mirrored on both sides of the van. This may mean that any tendency for the spring to bow in or out under compression is also mirrored on both sides of the van.

Thanks
That makes sense and wondered if anything to do with clearing the drive shaft.
Maybe keeping spring central around strut then..
