Dead injector

Please help. Van has been running real rough since i got her. Just pulled the injectors to send them away to be cleaned and there are 3 standard injectors and one that looks completely different and had 4 holes in the bottom rather than one

. Fairly sure that will be the issue with the uneven running under load, but need to find a replacement.
Any help, or pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

Air cooled engines can have injectors too
Well you can't buy these things any more as you know, so it would have to be a refurbished one, and they are not cheap.
Some one will come along and pop some information here to help, as I haven't the foggiest.
I have a set but they need some work.

I'm not fussed if the replacement(s) need rebuilding, that is easily(ish) solved. It is the fact i don't have a set. Could you be separated from yours??

I could but it's embedded in an inlet manifold, along with three others...hanging up in my spares shed.

you CAN buy them new, and if you are patient (and lucky) with the search you can even get them at a great price.
but they are getting difficult to source and as soon as you say " VW bus" the price automatically leaps upwards.
the injectors for the volvo 240 series are exactly the same , only the rubber hose is half an inch longer.
i got offered 4 used ones on a volvo manifold for $200 here, i'd think they'd be a lot cheaper in a UK scrappy!
i finally scared the last 5 out of a warehouse in the USA for $44 each . ordered 4 and they sent one extra free. i reckon they thought "well who the feck will want to buy just one"..........
they don't have any more.
by the description you give it sounds like one of yours is a disc type injector. does it say TOMCO on it?
nothing wrong with them and you can mix them with normal type but obviously 4 of the same type would be a better plan provided they all work as they should.

i'd humbly submit the theory that they are complete w@nkers and don't have a feckin' clue...............
take a look at that manifold you have hanging on the wall or simply compare the offered ebay item to the genuine part:
vw
E D I T: they do actually seem to maybe be petrol but for a different system from either older or later volvos, they will NOT fit the late 70's and early 80's volvos they claim they are suitable for , or maybe i'm a wönker and don't understand everything about volvos so maybe they used 2 different types.............
but it should be obvious to anyone who's ever seen a VW one what is correct and what is not.
