Hi! Do I have to take off the hub to replace the right front splashplate or is it just three bolts!

You need to remove the disc, but not the hub.You might be better using an impact driver to remove the three screws.

I have a cheap wheel bolt remover driver would that do the job with an impact socket! Or could you recommend me a good impact driver! I've got to remove the exhaust nuts on the head to replace manifold pipe so it might come in handy there too after I have got them loosened! Thanks for your help!

I used one of the impact drivers you clout with a hammer, can't comment on any other type. The bolts are cross headed screws,so give the cross a good clean out first.

Did mine yesterday, hex bolts one side and crosshead screwdriver the other. The crossheads were so badly corroded, I ended up having to use a chisel to get them started. Once moving the screwdriver just about had enough to get hold of to undo them.

Thanks! Such a relief that I don't have to remove the hub! Splash plates partially missing seems to affect mot these days!

One minute! I have early calipers! Is it still as easy or do I still not have to take the hub off! Does the brake disc and caliper have to come off and does it slide off ok!

Just undo the caliper and tie it out of the way.And remove the caliper carrier,no need to drain.

Sorry for the confusion xpress, that pic was just to show what needs to be removed, but you don't need to remove the hub - as Rob says just move the caliper/carrier out of the way (that pic was taken as the caliper was taken off entirely to clean it up). :ok

Thanks for your help! Is the plate pictures teamed up with the later sliding caliper with the sausage shaped pads? My caliper has the square type pads! Do I have the different backplate to your one?

I think this is the one I have!

Is it still as simple to do!

No hub needing taking off! Seems to be a pipe coming through the plate on my one! But on this link there are no holes in the plate! In the plate the previous poster put an image of, there's holes on that plate because I have that one! Which one is for the sliding caliper and which one is for the square shaped pads!
