VW 1986 T25 5 speed gearbox reconditioning

I have a VW 1986 T25 Westfalia multi van with manual 5 speed gearbox and its getting difficult to get 4th gear in and out. Any advice on reconditioning?
I use this van daily and it seems parts are becoming harder and harder to get, would anyone else still use this as a workhorse or retire it to the old timers weekend camper trip only land?
Cheers
Steve

Thanks Ghost,
I've tried Aidan, he's booked till September, the strip down on these needs really odd and special tools but I was hoping some gearbox guru near Durham Newcastle way might want to take it on if they have them. Its getting harder and harder to keep these things going it seems but thanks.

you wont find many old vehicles with as much spares and support available, trade it in for new is not going to be cheaper, have you seen the price of new vehicle spares?
