Hi All,

I purchased a Waeco CR50 from the chaps at Campervan Culture and very please I am with it. One thing that is worrying me though is having the old fridge gas pipe effectively still in use, albeit I've turn the stoppers to close the flow, it could still be knocked open by accident.

Anyone managed to find an cap for this pipe?

Leaving it as a open end is a big no no.. I mean real big. Neatest solution to to cap it at the manifold, so undo the pipe and fit a cap like this

i think that link is just for the plug, you may have to reuse the nut on the pipe..

What a coincidence! I too am fitting a waeco fridge and was just looking at blanking plugs.

How do i measure the size i need? The narrowest part of the copper male end is 10mm - but measuring the outside of the thread is about 14mm.

are you looking at capping it at the manifold? If so, i presume its a nut and olive fitting like a T3? This will be metric, so 8mm is the norm.. (measure OD of pipe going into fitting) The above type fitting will work. (bear in mind i haven't seen the plug in the link in the flesh as such)
The fitting onto my westy gas tank was 8mm.

If its a Truma type manifold with the red taps, they have specific olives and end caps, you can find them on ebay. Alternatively, if yours is a three way, I have a spare two way Truma type manifold (OMB brand) as I have just fitted a three way manifold to run a Propex heater. Its a bare manifold but if yours is a Truma then the unions etc should transfer over.


E D I T... PN16 seems to be what I mean by Truma type, so if your manifold is marked PN16, its compatible.

Yes I agree that looks right, in fact I just bought a Truma olive and nut from them!
