Clutch release bearing

Hi,

Clutch pedal stuck up yesterday, recovered to friends house. Dropped engine and found a mangled thrust bearing.

As it was mangled I have no reference as how the new bearing fits - the clip arrangement is not that intuitive. Not got my manuals with me.

Anyone got a pic of a correctly fitted one for reference?

Cheers,

Alex

And be REALLY careful no part of the old bearing gets left behind on the sleeve surrounding input shaft. This would seem obvious but if the bearing breaks up, a small section can easily be missed and you'll have no clutch when you bolt gearbox and engine together. Last year I put the gearbox in SEVEN times in one day before Mercdoctor spotted the remnant sitting right at the back. Because of the grime you can't really see it, so a very careful check is important.
