Sliding door lock question + photo request

Hi , does any one have a photo of a late sliding door handle end lock or know the dimension from the interior handle centre to the bottom of the lock, my request is for the following reason, my sliding door has been carpet covered by me over the ply panel and door frame (twit),but it looks nice, I would like to fit an aftermarket central locking actuator and do not know how much to cut away the carpet to access the lock within the door and have the minimum of patching to do with a smallish ali plate again carpet covered so that the whole thing doesn't look like a pigs ear.

thanks for your reply, it's the bottom of the lock mechanism within the door, the bit that can't be seen unless the lock is out of the door or the interior panel is off

Hi.
Not quite sure which measurement you are after, but I have my van stripped down at the moment.
Just taken this image for you, will it help?
Let me know if you need additional dimensions.
John

I can work in both, but I usually put my foot in it anyway

. I think I will have to surface mount the actuator above the handle , just need to check if they will work in reverse.

Well for the last 40 years as a Design & Technology teacher we had to use metric all the time. I can work in both and choose to do so most of the time now! Imperial is my chosen unit, but metric is easier to show on a photo!
