Quick question.
I've removed my gearbox to replace the flywheel oil seal. The box is absolutely filthy, is it safe to blast it with a power washer? Do I need to take care when power washing particular bits?

Probably but better imo to just use some paraffin or diesel and a paint brush/dish brush
if you remove all the oil then it will corrode, they suffer this

My plan was to spray it with 'something suitable' once it was cleaned. Is that a bad idea, maybe more trouble than it's worth?
I say 'something suitable' as I'm not sure what to spray it with just yet.

Tape up the breather on top of the box.....do not spray high pressure water directly at the input and output seals, re-grease splines, clutch lever pivot and release bearing sleeve with appropriate type grease.
