Hi guys - decided to take the van to work today as my car is off the road.

I pulled into a carpark and reversed into a space - but then the clutch pedal got stuck down, then came up and stayed up - now i cant push it down and the clutch wont dis-engage...

Any ideas whats happened? The pedal is fairly solid and i cant push it down again, which means i cant drive it!

(1990 Transporter 1z conversion)

I dont really want to have to call for breakdown but i will if i have to lol.

PLEASE HELP!! :?: :?: :?:

Cheers mate - ive had a chat with someone who deals in T25s and they have said its the mechanism on the side of the gearbox thats seized (?) something like that anyway. Apparently the bearings will have dried out and seized.

Needs the gearbox out to grease the bearings... apparently.

Fingers crossed i can get it home today lol.

I very much doubt that it is that ^ - it is more likely to be the clevis pin and hole. The shaft in the bell housing might get stiff but not seize solid suddenly.

Have a look at the slave cylinder to see if push rod is out at full travel. If it is then likely the clutch has collapsed or the relase arm/bearing has broken.
