What is the problem?

I found a t-4 diesel engine, 1.9 liter (direct fuel injection)
can be installed on a T-3?

ABL engine can be, usual swapping of mounts etc.

Injector pump is pants as had no LDA so best to swap for an AAZ pump, dipstick is in wrong place and block needs re drilling.

He is in Iran and he has no diesel van parts to start with!

Here, T-4 Petrol spare parts are available

ABL is a four pot IDI diesel.

Four pot petrol is same block as most I4 engines but will be a whole host of misery.

You still need either the d/td sump etc etc.. bellhousing or a good engineer to make an adapter plate to mount it at same angle as in the t4......

As said.. whole host of other issues.......

Given the different "speed" diesel and gasoline engines, do not replace the gearbox, okay?

My advice...

If you can find a VW TD engine.. then you will need to find.. either a T3 diesel bellhousing (engine to gearbox interface)or have an adapter made to fit the engine to the existing bellhousing..

Remember.. if you want to use the T3 diesel bellhousing, you will also need all the diesel engine installation parts (engine sump, starter, mounts, input shaft etc etc)
If you use an adapter plate.. then you will need to make/find suitable mounts and input shaft etc etc..

BUT.. I am guessing from previous comments that these are near impossible to find in your location....

In that case...

Find a suitable diesel engine that you can buy and maintain in your location.. Make sure it has more power than the current 1.6L Subaru...

Get an engineer to make an adapter plate to mount this engine to the existing gearbox at the correct angle for the engine (as installed in the original vehicle)..

When you find the gearing is too low.. either fit 205r14 tyres to the rear wheel.. (may not give you enough increase in gearing) or search for a gearbox with taller ratio.. (many different gearboxes so have to see what code you can find to identify the gearbox)

There are no easy ways around this for you.. unless you have money in the bank so you can purchase the required parts in another country and ship them..

There really isn't much more we can suggest at this time.......

As you have a Subaru installed already.. I can only suggest a bigger Subaru engine (2.0L).. this will be faster and not need to be driven so hard, therefore probably would be more economical (and if you can find a fuel injected one, that should be the case)
