Donor car marked D or SDi does it matter which?

Hi, I'm looking at a 1y engine transplant for my new Doka that has a very dead 1.6 lump in at the moment. Does it matter if the donor vehicle is marked D or SDI or will either work? I'm assuming there are two different injection types on the various 1y engined cars? Any help much appreciated and apologies if this has been asked before, I did search but couldn't find anything
Cheers guys. James

Dont think it matters, more how the different manufactures mark the cars. As log as it's a 1y it's good. Some have electronic immobiliser but that can be worked round. Be careful as some SDI cars have a different engine, like some Polos. This can be used but is different and needs more fettling

SDI is a direct injection diesel (like tdi) without turbo. It has electric diesel pump like the tdi, engine codes are ASY, and AEY for 1.9

So would an SDi lump be ok? I've found a low miles unit out of a seat inca, 1.9 non turbo but the seller can't find a code (looking near injectors 3 and 4) and there's no sticker on the plastic belt cover

quite a blurry pic, but it looks to be a mechanical pump as i cant see a electrical plug on it. So that should mean its a D not a SDI
