I've got a set of borbet A's and on test fitting the rims the wheel nuts I have stop the center cap fitting on. Is it safe to cut the nuts down, or is it best to wined out the studs and get some bolts?

Confusing!
Are you saying the exposed threads are preventing the center caps being fitted?
As long as the nuts have a good 8 full turns then shortening the studs is fine (Ideally level with the nut).

No it was the length of the wheel nuts not the actual studs. I'll look out for some of the open ended wheel nuts as they should be shorter.

Hi I would like to see pictures of your van please with the Borbets on as I really like a set! What width are they & did you get them fitted properly in the end. Cheers Guy

I had the same problem with the nuts as the closed end ones were to long. I used a chisel to knock the end caps off the nuts.
The problem with the borbet A's is the original studs are too short. You need to upgrade to longer ones. 50mm is fine. I bought 60mm from brickwerks and had to shorten them by 10mm as the center caps would nor fit again.

I also bought 60mm studs and new nuts for the front as I run a wented brake disks conversion.
A picture of my van. I am running on 16 inch borbet a's. Found the on german ebay few years ago in very good condition. Front 7,5 inch wide et15, rear 9 inch wide et10.
Tyres are 225/50/16 for the front and 245/45/16 for the rear.

I bet with those ET's they stick out a bit!
Don't ever lower it.

Yes they do stick out a bit. Because of those fat tyres as well but I wanted a comfortable ride and some kerb protection. I also had to extend the U bracket on the sliding door by 30 mm as the door would hit the tyre. A price to pay for the good looks.
I'm planning to raise the back just a little bit or put some heavy duty springs to get it standing even when fully loaded with camping gear. But that's another topic.
