Advice please on getting an engine

I need an engine for my 87 1.9 watercooled t25. Please can I have some advice on the best place to get one and where to avoid. Thanks in advance

check the wiki under engine and troll through the stuff its been asked here so many times there is loads of posts available if you try

Sorry I'm a newby and not very good at finding my way round, I have been trying but not found info I wanted yet but will keep looking.

if you search for elite that will give you a good starting point! They are a reconditioner...but only recondition what is necessary. Good and bad reports. Vege also do replacement engines
see the alternative engines forum for other engines that can go in.

The right hand bank has worn the tops of the valves and rocker screws out, making the push rods miss the rockers. I can fix it but I wanted the old girl on the road as I have only just got her.

quicker to buy and fit a new head IMHO
they cost about £280 and come with valves and springs

Worried about oil feed to head so I was thinking best to do all engine as it eliminates all poss probs?

Thanks all for advice, looks like I found a second hand running engine to put in, so I can then recon my old one.
