Hi
Are you going to do the work yourself, or get a garage to do it ?
It is probobly the most simple conversion to do, but its hard to find a good low miles AAZ now, and you will want to hear the donor engine running with good service history.

And if looking for a mechanic/ garage to do it - what part of the country are you in?

Not aware of anywhere in Somerset, the garage I used for my recent engine swap is Millers Motor Service down in Launceston - he doesn't stock recon engines but would certainly fit one for you for a reasonable price, if you source one:-
https://www.facebook.com/MillersMotorService" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (you don't have to log in to facebook to see that page)
They do get booked up though, mine was down there for ages and there was several T25's waiting when I went to pick mine up!
The only place i've seen offering a "turnkey" recon engine and installation for T25's is T25 Direct in London. They don't advertise an AAZ conversion, but you can see some options here to get an idea of price:-
http://www.t25direct.com/engines-and-in ... s-27-c.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
They seem to be all about the petrol GTI engine conversion - maybe because of the LEZ in London?

Hi
You can get recon engines, but will need an old one to exchange, best to try and get a donor car and take all you need

I'm getting an aaz remanufactured but as above generally work is on an exchange basis. Will take longer as I don't have an exchange.

spoke to t25 direct
they seem to know their stuff in supply and fit engines, and have all the options of different engines
pretty much hassle free for a week without the van at around 2K all in!
to use that shocking phrase; a one stop shop!
still a lot of money and probably can be done cheaper elsewhere
good starting point though
