Sorry, simple question I know.

I want to check the oil level on the gearbox but I can't find the filler plug anywhere. 1.9 Petrol 5 speed. I've been scrabbling around under the van with a torch for an hour looking for it. I'm quite slim but it's very tight under there even for me. I had to get out twice due to feeling a bit claustraphobic!

just above the cv joint (offside) it's a hex socket. 17mm i think?...

Its a bit obscured by the gearlinkage

Thanks, found it. Can't see why I missed it now.

I'd spray a fair bit of Plusgas around it over a day or two. They can be very tight if not undone for a while; say last time in 1985.
