So ive got the van to a point where i could trial fit the new front panel, its lines up beautifully on the outside seams and sits great on the front bumper structure, but in the middle it is sitting high, i can get my fingers under the back edge and its sat the same distance proud of the top join. Im stumped....

The repro panels are a bit crap, the ones that were trial fitted to my van had the wrong curve on them. I ended up buying a genuine one and it fitted perfectly.
you can see the issues of the repro ones on the bodywork thread of my van. link should get you to page 15 which is where the front is trial fitted

Last pick is the back lick at the bottom, in the middle. The front top lip that would meet the grill, also ends up higher in the middle..... :?

if that inner lip is causing grief then cut it off, it would then be the same as the lower repair ones, and as for sealing well use brush on seam sealer and there is a spray one as well, just coat it and use a product like dynax uc

Right well, put the panel back on today. The front lower seam sits flush with the bumper right across. Both sides are sitting nice. Grill and lights fit so winner. Not sure how I'm gonna plug weld across the top though as its still rather high...
