I have the overhead bunk base that slides out and locks in to make the bed and the sponge mattress that is velcro'ed in above the rear overhead locker,we never use them and was wondering if they are worth selling and how much to ask, both are in excellent condition, the colour is scilly(pinky),thanks

Not sure you can remove it without some dismantling anyway...mine certainly won't come out without a fight.
I don't use mine either, but it was usefull one cold winters night, I drew the bed over and sealed up the gap with a quilt, effectively making it into a tin top, helped in keeping the warmth in. :D

Autosleeper high-top bed board
by MartinMaudsley ยป 01 Apr 2014, 10:42

Dear Forum

New member, first post...
I have a 1990 high-top Autosleeper which I bought missing the extra bed board for the top bunk that should pull out to make it longer. Does anyone know how/where I can get a replacement or if I need to get one made what the dimensions and spec are?

Many thanks in anticipation...

Keep it its great kipping up top (I love sleeping up there especially when on rare chance on own ) don't have mess around breaking things down in morning & all set for breakfast.
Parcel shelf is another thing bit of pain used to slide underneath van in plastic bag when camping but mostly leave at home now but useful so no one can see what's in store under there on other trips. Still have original plate set but that's another thing in store amongst other things. Once you get rid of something you can guarantee if ever decide want again you'd have to pay daft price to replace again as the for sales adds show these days with some of the extortionate amounts asked for pretty basic stuff these days.

We took the tables and legs out of the van this year after 2 years of not using them but carrying them with us everywhere we went. Always seem to sit outside to eat or slouch on the back seats so out they went. The rear parcel shelf on our Autosleeper slips under the tailgate end of the bed matress when we are camping.

my van never had a parcel shelf when I bought it so I made one for it,I only take it out if working on the engine as it gives a bit more space, when sleeping in the van we keep it in place and sleep with our feet facing the tailgate

I think the parcel shelf is great, quieter when travelling, space to put stuff when camping and sleeping. :ok

I like having head at the tailgate when sleeping but agree if feet that end is useful to put gear and can lay in bed looking out slider on a nice morning on but somehow feels so much comfier head at back.

I do that but use one of the sections of mattress to fill the gap. Very cosy :ok
