Will a worn clutch affect the general running - ie. driving along at 30 in 3rd gear and it start juddering and being a bit bumpy
thought it might be the fuel filter, but I changed that last night - alos need to check for air in the fuel lines.

I wouldn't think so Leon , all that juddering/shuddering could have cause a line to crack therefore letting air into the system ..

poss air or contaminated fuel ie water
try some injector cleaner and cleaning water trap if it has one
is rough running only when cold or all the time
faulty glow plug could cause issues when cold

could be a chip in the fuel

new filter and no water came out of the previous one

most of the time

It had new plugs earlier this year but I'll have to check their connections
Jed!!! I was wondering if it was the brand of oil, the shop had a different brand instead of the KTC I use. But, I've got 1/3 diesel at the moment.

I've been out and had a mess and I've found a culprit poor fuel pipe connection going onto the inlet banjo on the fuel filter housing.
Got a new clip and some PTFE and gaffer tape and took it for a little drive - feels much better

I've got a high mix of diesel in mate, also it ran fine last week in the Brecons and it was a bit colder then.

I have very similar symptoms with my 1.6TD Syncro.
In 2nd and 3rd gear. usually at about 25-35mph ish / 2000 - 2500 rpm.
Ive noticed that if i am accelerating or have my foot off the pedal its fine, its always when trying to maintain speed that it does it. ie keeping my foot in the same position.
Any ideas

I get something like that occasionaly in 3rd or 4th at about 30-40mph.
Could be a loose engine mount or perhaps a gearbox problem
