Oil at top of dipstick tube behind flap

Hi

Noticed it before when I check the oil the top of the tube is always oily (finger ring ) I'm guessing the rubber seal is shot so it's coming out of the top ever so slightly.
Is there a quick fix replacement seal ???

Many thanks in advance

:ok

I used self-amalgamating rubber tape for a makeshift rubber seal. It's great stuff for things like that as it kind of congeals together into whatever shape it's pressed into.

It helped, but as people pointed out on here - oil coming out of the top of the dipstick may indicate a problem with too much crankcase pressure.

There is no pressure in the crankcase, the crankcase breather lets it out.

So worn out rubber seal the culprit ?

You must have a tidy engine if that's the only place oil is appearing where it shouldn't :rollin

after having a good search on here it looks like this question has been asked before, O ring missing from the top of the dipstick, checked mine and its missing ! have fitted another so will report back to see if its cured it...

apart from that no known other oil leaks...

Wisdom grasshopper!
I dont get it
