Vacuum Hose, Where does the other end go?

I have been out this evening sorting out some split pipes and rough running issues

Vacuum pipe from the back of the carb was missing, this has been rectified. Also the vacuum tube to the dizzy was cracked, this has also been replaced.

The engine is idling a lot nicer now BUT there is still this additional pipe from the top of the air filter box that I cannot locate a destination for.

The engine is a 1.9dg petrol I believe

Any ideas?

It looks like the vac pipe for the pre heater flap which is behind the off side rear lamp.

It fits onto a stub on the circular diaphragm underneath this.

Thanks bigherb, I spent an hour going over it and looked through my haynes manual in great detail.

You have saved me another hour of frustration!!

Ha ha. I just changed my air filter for the first time and I replaced the vacuum hoses too. I have the same problem with that vacuum hose, it just disappears into the hole loose. I never thought it was supposed to fix onto something. I'll have to have a further look into that cubby hole.

My cold idle is a bit rough. Is this going to improve it?

Well, I am no mechanical expert but when I sorted out the cracked hose and replaced these two on their proper locations it went from cutting out at cold idle to a smooth purr!

Certainly worth a try
