Hi folks,
Does anyone know what stainless exhaust I can get for my t25 with a golf gti engine in it? I'm not sure what would fit the engine.
Any advise would be much appreciated.
Cheers
James

Getting a downpipe made but wont be for a few weeks if thats any help.
if youre not in a rush can send you a pic of one next week/
Stainless and will go from the inlet manifold down to exhaust box, with lambda probe.
Like the ones you can buy in germany but (1) not mild steel (2) same sort of money for far superior product (3) not welded by a blind 5 year old with parkinsons.
The chap has made two before and they are TIG porn

Elvis,
are you saying that this guy can make them to order potentially? ..if so is it from the exhause outlet on the engine all the way back to the trianglar connection with for instance a wbx 2.1 stainless back box like i have from Brickies..cheers. If so....any idea re costs and availability?

Little old fella with old school engineering shop. No phone number and shed is up a lane
they run from the Gti exhaust manifold where there is the twin outlet, have only got them done for a JX back box so far. Have used a 2.1 box but meant fabbing a simple sleeve adapter onto the triangular flange that bolts to the exhaust box.
should be in a position to get a pic over weekend/bank holiday monday.
Think they wernt far off £150 but are a work of art, all stainless and TIGd by a pro. Compared to the £120 odd 2e website wants in germany they are a bargain. Need to order at least one next week, will probably get a second as a spare (otherwise have to keep taking it off the bus to get him to copy it as he doesnt keep jigs made up) so i have a spare to copy.
Will see what discount i can negotiate for buying a few, if its worth my while i might buy 3 or 4 and shoulder the cost myself. Dont like deposits/taking money for goods i dont have. also if i am let down it leaves me in a pants position.
watch this space...................

Waltraud,
I would stick with the 2.1 WBX silencer if you can. It makes for a very subdued and restful exhaust note.

Thanks Gary, I am planning to, just wanted a way to have a pipe from engine to exhst as I cant properly weld stainless. I wondered if my current ss pipe from the silencer to cast knuckle couls form part of it (brickies one).

This is my one from Olaf in Germany (2eimvwbus). It's simply beautiful, and goes straight on to a JX pipe. Simply beautifully engineering.

As i said to you before mark that one ^^^^^^ is massively different in quality to the one on my engine. The 6 bolt flange is good but the 4 bolt one is a third of that thickness and definately on the wonk. It does seal but i cant say i am overly impressed. BTW i do have an early TD exhaust system ( sleeve joint ) here if you havent done your shopping yet ??
