1980 Devon wiring - Electroux 122b fridge

Hi all.
Becoming a regular on here again as summer gets near!
So... I'm turning my attention to our Electrolux 122b fridge. It's two way. 12v and Gas
Up until now, we've not used it or had it tested.
I can't find an literature on that specific model, and I also can't find any details on the Devon wiring either.
This is what I want to know...
- When I hook up my van to the 240v does it (or should i) charge the leisure and main battery?
- With the Devon wiring, can I swap out and change to a 3 way and wire it in easily?
- Does anyone have some instructions on how this fridge should work?
- Has anyone installed a Zig unit to their Devon? Is this a good option?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I have the original wiring diagram that I can scan and send you. I will dig it out tonight

Hope this helps.
We have a small fuse box that is behind the drivers seat that controls the fridge and lights.
The fridge will only run on 12 v when the engine is running otherwise you will flatten your battery very quickly.

I had the same problem with my 1980 devon. The pump was a quick fix, tested it straight on the battery. It worked so re wired it too the battery, took about ten mins.
The fridge however....it worked, but i did not trust a 34yr old fridge running on gas with two small children in the van. So i opted for a 12v and mains electric cool box. Its brilliant! Same size as the fridge, was about £100 from Halfords.

So long as the fridge is in good condition all is OK, they are quite simple. We run a small CO alarm in the van at night for added peace of mine

Hmmm I've also had to wire the lights direct to the battery, so it all points to that fuse box area.
Was all working fine before. It's a bit of a mess anyway, and do not particularly like that fuse box behind the drivers seat anyway. Maybe time to do a bit of rewiring with a new blade box hidden away somewhere.
Great idea on testing it stuff directly (why didn't I think of that!).
Would lie, to swop the 2 way fridge for a 3 way ideally, but the cool box idea sounds good too.
Will investigate!
Thanks all for the help!
Now to work...

I have made a website about the Devon T25 camper range.
On the downloads page you will find the manuals for the fridge plus lots of other useful Devon related stuff.
http://devon.vwt25camper.info/html/vw_t ... loads.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If any of you have any manuals etc that are not already on the site please send me a copy and I will add it the site.
Cheers,
Dave

Have found this site already. I see the link now, after you saying it is defo there.
Do you want any "Devon Specific" tips or tricks as I do stuff?
